Myanmar Network for Bamboo and Rattan (MyaNBAR) logo spec
At the event, the chairman of MRBEA (Myanmar Rattan and Bamboo Entrepreneurs Association) formally announced the creation of the Myanmar Network for Bamboo and Rattan (MyaNBAR), with the aim of supporting the development of a national bamboo strategy and policy, and building a broader global network. The five organisations that form MyaNBAR are MRBEA, Myanmar Bamboo Society (MBS), Myanmar Bamboo Lovers’ Network (MBLN), Ayeyarwaddy Bamboo Association (ABA) and The Myanmar Bamboo Producers and Traders Cluster; others were invited to join at the event.
Following the China Study Tour in June 2018, MRBEA created the MyanBAR with the aim of supporting the development of a national bamboo strategy and policy, and building a broader global network.
Any bamboo related business or organisation is welcome to to join this integrated network of associations that aims to bamboo policy and strategy at the national level.
The main objectives of the MYANBAR are to 1. Lobby the government in all matters related to bamboo including community forestry and peace building efforts and 2. To establish an accreditation body that sets standards related to the manufacture and processing of bamboo and rattan (note: at present there is no accreditation body for bamboo in Myanmar).
It is estimated that the first objective will appeal to the NGO and INGO and Community Based Organisations that lack a voice in the national level, and the second objective will appeal to those involved in the commercial aspects of bamboo and rattan. One of the main sources of revenue for MYANBAR is the World Bamboo Day held each year in September. The logo is required for us to create packages for companies to have booths and be exhibitors as well as raise money through sponsorships. Therefore we are looking to get a logo done as quickly as possible. The rest of the needs (cards, website etc) can follow after we raise the additional funds.
