How smith.kyla started their logo design journey
Who are you known as?
Hear Be Dragons
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Hear Be Dragons is community-based education and creative arts initiative that brings people together to map the sonic landscape of their lives. This unique experiential education project investigates the ways in which sound and the urban environment influence our quality of life, our perception of history and memory, and our notions of identity, place and time.
The title HBD plays on the medieval saying “here be dragons,” which denoted unchartered territories – often believed to be the home of dragons or other mysterious phenomena – on maps. HBD aimed to awaken these young people's auditory senses and gave them the tools and language to capture and document the unexplored territory of sound, while equipping them with a basic understanding of sound recording and editing technology, through a series of workshops in each city.
What industry do you think your business is most related to?

What colors do you want to see in your design?
Other color requirements
I don't have specific colour preference but I think a two colour design would be good

*You can check out the project at http://www.hearbedragons.org.
* Really like the "Voyager' logo above. I like its use of colour and the geometric shapes with an abstract element to it too
* I really don't want a literal dragon in this design.
* I also want to steer away from something that looks like a logo for a sound company
* This is a creative arts project, its about exploring neighborhoods and cities through the medium of sound and reconsidering those spaces through sonic mediums. So sound as new way of looking at the world and space around us - a design that can incapsualte that would be great
*Would like the design to be sophisticated but also playful - the title is a play on words itself.
*If you read the concept note you will see the reference to the old phrase that was used to denote unchartered territories on maps - Here be Dragons. This marked the unknown.
*The whole point of our project is to rediscover and map known spaces through a potentially unknown medium - sound
*Don't hesitate to contact me if you have any specific questions
