Entertainment & The Arts
My Partner and I own a company called 'Technical Elegance Ltd' which was created to provide technical, creative and consultation services to the broadcast, media, arts and entertainment industries. Technical Elegance Ltd is the parent company but it has several sections that are actively working. There are currently 3 sections that this business works in which are Broadcast Engineering, Dance and Ballet teaching/training and Photography. We are always looking for other areas that we can expand into so these 3 sub divisions could become more. We are currently developing a website that will encompass all of these areas, but each sub-section will have it's own individual website for example: technicalelegance.co.uk - Parent company landing page with links to other sites. technicalelegance.co.uk/engineering - site for booking broadcast engineering services. technicalelegance.co.uk/dance - site for dance classes and personal instruction technicalelegance.co.uk/photo - site selling photography services and images For this competition, we are looking for a logo design for the parent company, which can be incorporated and manipulated in further competitions to create logos for the broadcast engineering, dance and photography sub sections. It is important to us that the theme from the parent logo becomes the base for logos for the broadcast engineering, dance and photography so that we can carry the company branding throughout. As far as ideas for the design, we have no pre-conceived ideas and are open to any styles, but we are looking for something that reflects quality and attention to detail as these are ideals that we aspire to in our work and services as well as a looking slick. For the Industry Selection I have selected: Entertainment & The Arts, but this is only one section and we are open to all design styles for the parent logo. **UPDATE** Hi Everyone, We wanted to thank everyone who has submitted a design in our competition. After looking through all the designs and chatting with some of you we have a clearer idea of the direction we think will work for us. We would like to move in the direction of a monochrome wordmark as the most dominant part of the logo. We would like it to be monochrome as we like the idea of introducing colour to the logo for the dance/engineering/photography logos to follow. We would also like to introduce a cartoon/stick character with personality to the wordmark. Initially the character should be established with the wordmark and be monochrome as well. When we come to develop the dance/engineering/photography logos we would introduce coloured props for the character i.e. a camera and have the character interact with the wordmark in some way. The character's personality should be fun and light hearted but not a joker but most of all likeable - I'll state the obvious ones there :) As far as the character's physicality it could be anything; animal, mineral, vegetable or extraterrestrial. The only other thing is that the logo would need to be used on both light and dark backgrounds, so is it possible to create opposition versions of the logo e.g. one black and one white or one that works with both? Thank you very much once again for submitting designs for our competition, you really have inspired us and help us visualise the image of our business. We have guaranteed the prize for this competition, and will invite our finalists through to our next 3 sub logo competitions. J
Logo types to explore
The most important thing for us is that this logo is only for the parent company, but please keep in mind that this logo will become the base for further logos incorporating the broadcast engineering, dance teaching/training and photography logos which will be developed later.

This designer kicked off our contest with something that exactly matched our request's criteria. It was clear that they took us into serious consideration. Their design submissions were elegant, sharp and modern with the color profiles we sought. They paid heed to our comments on their contest submissions too. Highly recommend this artist.
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
