Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
We are a special effects and stunt company that works with pyrotechnics, fireworks, flame, and atmospheric effects (smoke, flutterfetti, CO2 etc.). We are kind of the bad boys of the industry here. Bad Boy - Danger Boy...

Basically we just launched this new division of our company with a whole new image and the day we launched we got a letter telling us to stop using the explosion symbol to the left of our name because there is another special effects company in Canada using the symbol and somehow they have trademarked it in their logo (see "bad_example" uploaded image for their trademarked logo). This is a VERY common symbol and I guess that is where we went wrong. I find it hard to believe they could trademark it... However, I do like the explosion concept and it is very linked to what we do. I am also keen on the font (seedy motel) and we actually bought the commercial license for it. Another "big, rough" font would do too but I don't want to buy another license. What we need is a quick facelift to what we have now that is different and original enough for us not to be hassled. It also has to fit the configuration of the web site title bar (see "our_site_now" or visit http://www.danger-boy.com). In a way I don't want it to look a whole lot different to what we have because we have launched to our subscription email list of 3000 and I don't want people to see something too different the next time they visit. Oh, and I have until Feb 15 to have this change in place or the lawyers will be a coming...
