Entertainment & The Arts
Digi Weekend DXB is an event - the UAE's first ever online-celebrity festival bringing together creators, fans and brands for a weekend of live performances and talks, meet & greets, autograph sessions, merchandise stalls and sponsor activation areas. The target audience is: YOUNG (12 - 17 years) – ambitious and engaged Tech-savvy – this generation has grown up surrounded by Apple, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter so they are the most digitally-attuned generation to date. Books and music are downloaded, games are played via online and they head to YouTube for music. Image conscious FEMALE and MALE, but with a SKEW TOWARDS FEMALE. Given the demographic of residents in the UAE - the event and its logo/creative needs to appeal to a wide range of nationalities including: WESTERN EXPATS: Primarily English, Canadian, American, Australian, South African - ENGLISH speaking ARAB EXPATS: Primarily Lebanese, Egyptian, Jordanian, Palestinian - ENGLISH and ARABIC speaking. Brand conscious ASIAN EXPATS: Primarily Indian and Filipono. ENGLISH speaking EMIRATIS: minimal numbers - ARABIC speaking and will be covered using an ARABIC adaption of the logo which will be created at a later date.
Other color requirements
We want a BOLD logo with simple colors - we are interested in exploring clashing fluorescent colours i.e. yellow with fuchsia pink and turquoise.
We need a 'trendy' logo that appeals to teenagers. We do not like Italics - we are looking for either chunky typeface, or a graffiti style typeface, or comic style typeface WITH some sort of cool emblem (a geometric design should be considered). The logo will be used across merchandise so that needs to be considered. We will require a horizontal and a vertical layout. This event is the first of its kind in the UAE, and one of the few events to reach out to this demographic. The event will branch out to other GCC countries in the future and therefore the logo must be adaptable to, for example, Digi Weekend QATAR, Digi Weekend BEIRUT, Digi Weekend ABU DHABI. We are imagining the city (DXB, ABU DHABI etc) to be a ‘stamp’ but not tied to that idea. An Arabic logo will also be required in due course – translations will be provided. A subtle hint towards the YouTube logo could be considered. WE ESPECIALLY LIKE THE DUBAI MUSIC WEEK LOGO UPLOADED BELOW.
