The logo will be for an academic research project, but we want to engage a broader audience, including industry stakeholders (e.g. retailers, suppliers, wholesalers), regulators, politicians, members of the general public and the media.
The project is looking at the role that big supermarkets, in particular the Australian chains (Woolworths and Coles), play in shaping and responding to competition in the retail grocery market. The project will take a holistic approach; therefore it will look not only at the law that regulates business conduct (especially competition), but also at the social, political and cultural role that big supermarkets play; and the sort of role that people thing they should play in Australian society. And why and to what extend their activities should be regulated.

One idea we had was to have two stylised shopping trolleys bumping into each other, to capture the theme of competition between supermarkets.
The themes we're trying to capture include competition, markets, economics, law, morality and fairness, consumer interests and communities.
