How at craol.ie started their logo design journey
Who are you known as?
Craol [craol or CRAOL fine too]
What’s your company slogan?
**We have a logo both with and without the slogan** "The Community Radio Forum of Ireland *Fóram Raidió Pobal na hÉireann*" - Nice to have it incorporated, will need both English and *Irish* however that works.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Craol (the Irish word for "broadcast") is the representative, co-ordinating, lobbying, training, & support organisation for Irish Community Radio. Our target audience is the general public (listeners) and those involved in the movement (stations, staff, volunteers). We don't sell products - it's all about knowledge, the right to communicate and creating a sense of the Community Radio movement in Ireland.
What industry do you think your business is most related to?
Community & Non-Profit
What colors do you want to see in your design?
Other color requirements
Existing logo is #FDCD09 (253,205,9) and black
To give us an idea of the overall feeling of your brand, let us know which styles you lean towards
Our current one is difficult to use because of the gradient - it's too fiddly to use as an overlay and the white background is restrictive for design. We need something that can have a flat monochrome version that makes sense.
Things to avoid? Outlines of Ireland (we already need to have a map of member stations), headphones, microphones, radios and radio masts! All the super-literal stuff, but if something radio/communication related is done subtly or inferred, that could work. Not a fan of cartoon, vintage stamp, watercolour effect, drop shadows or gradients. Hope that helps!
