Please read this list, as it is an update on the info below:
Please follow these 6 guidelines for all entries.
1. There should be 2 parts to the logo; A symbol that uses the letters MT (not
MTM) and the fill text of the company name: Modern Times Marketing.
2. The symbol should appear to the left of the text not
3. The symbol MT must be able to stand on its own. People need
to be able to recognize what the letters are without knowing the name of the
4. We want to use a combination of black, gold, and white or just black and gold as the color scheme (as in the current examples), but we will also need a version of the logo all in white.
5. The logo’s primary uses will be first as the main element on a single page
website, that may not have much more besides a contact form, so it has to work
well at a large size. Second it needs to fit in a very narrow website masthead
without the words being to small to have impact.
6. There are some instances where we will want to use just the symbol and some
where we will want to use just the full name of the company on a single line
without the symbol next to it, so feel free to include those, as well.
We want to see options with the full name of the company as well as the acronym or a combination of both.
Modern Times Marketing and/or MT
The logo initially needs to be used as the primary focal point on a splash page that will contain a sign up form and very little copy and then needs to work in a much smaller form on one of the Joomla templates detailed below.
The full logo (or a design element that is part of the logo) has to work well as a Favicon, so the "brand symbol" is instantly recognizable - even at that small size.
We are likely planning to incorporate it into one of the following 3 Joomla templates, but while there is a lot of flexibly on the colors of the site, to get the logos to work well on mobile devices they have to be limited in size and wide rather than high:
NOTE: It is very important that the designer not focus on the sample logos on these sites or the color schemes they use. While we are likely to use one of these templates for our website, the site we create will look very different from these, as it is the underlying infrastructure of these templates that we are using them for. We are including these examples, to demonstrate the sizing of the logo, and so the designed can see how the template company designed their logos to include both text and the graphic in each case.
Here's what we like about the logos we've provided as samples:
Eco Plan - We like the combination of the 2 colored look combined with the graphic
Ask It - The combination of separate colored words as well as the attitude the logo projects
Fitness Life - This is the sample logo from one of the joomla templates we referenced above. This has the kind of "narrow approach" that will work on the newer style website mastheads
Fusion Theme - The 2 color combination with the light effect that connects the words
esurance 2 - this has the kind of "pop" we're looking for, for both a logo bug that would appear at the bottom of sites that are "powered by MTM" and stands out in the way we want the favicon to.
