Ian’s got a great design sense and got the logo almost dead on the first submission. Throughout the contest he has been very quick to feedback and extremely thorough.

Uptails raises funding for shark conservation and research through various fund raising efforts and is now adding merchandising for adding sources. We focus on awareness in the younger adults to teens - ages 16 to 45. Our style is a little edgy ans "sharky". We are hoping to use cool edgy designs (but not to demonize sharks) to help spread awareness and make people want our merchandise.

Uptails is a nickname given to Great White Sharks in South Africa. Currently the shark population in the world is being diminished severely every year. We are looking for edgy yet cool logo designs to add to our new merchandise line and update our brand. Our passion is shark conservation, research and education. The shark is a beautiful, mysterious creature that evokes a lot of emotion in people. We are hoping to tap into these emotions to help develop our new logo. We have admired the logo and designs of http://www.dorsalclothing.com, but also like the brand recognition of http://www.vineyardvines.com. Our new logo will be used on t-shirts, jackets, hats, sweatshirts a well as our print media. The logo should have an symbol/icon/mascot (what ever you want to call-it) to stand alone, but also be able to be paired with the name of the company.
