ANCOR has recently changed its tagline, in fact, we now have two taglines that we use with different audiences, and we need a new logo design to go with the new messages.
Here’s a little about us.
ANCOR is the American Network of Community Options and Resources. We are a trade association that represents organizations that provide supports and services to people with disabilities.
Internal tagline: Shaping policy, sharing solutions, strengthening community
This tagline reflects the variety of benefits we offer our members. As their advocate in Washington, we help shape policy that creates an environment where they can succeed. We seek out solutions to the challenges they face (such as hiring and retaining qualified staff, acquiring useful technology and adopting best practices in services delivery), and offer conferences, webinars and other opportunities to share these solutions with our members. Community is a very important concept for our members. (In fact, we often refer to ourselves as a community of community service providers.) Our members’ services allow persons with disabilities to live meaningful lives engaged in their communities, as opposed to being kept segregated in impersonal, sub-standard institutions. We believe that all communities are strengthened by the work our members do to serve their most vulnerable citizens.
External tagline: Because we all matter
This tagline has a more emotional message, and is meant to convey our belief that, just like everyone else, people with disabilities deserve the supports they need to live as independently as possible, to make choices about work, recreation and relationships, and to follow their dreams and reach their potential. This tagline makes a statement about the human rights of people with disabilities and the purpose of our members, and of our association.
Note: The core of our members focus primarily on services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (Down’s Syndrome, cerebral palsy, autism, etc.) However, many also offer supports and services to persons with physical disabilities, mental health diagnoses and the elderly. Any images in the proposed design should be as inclusive as possible.
We would prefer one design that can be used with both taglines.
