Business & Consulting
Manley Feinberg is a renowned climber and adventure speaker for corporate and association audiences who want to help their attendees propel forward and build momentum to reach their peak performance and the summit of their career.
This project is for a home landing page that will later be turned into a full fledge site. Our colors are: Dark blue (#0b1a35), light gray(#f1f1f1) and orange (#ff7600) (See the logo example here - https://www.dropbox.com/s/0kmzek9w9a614e2/New_1.4.png) To get a feel of the style or theme we want to have created, you can look at this site because we absolutely love it site http://MikeRayburn.com. We wish we would have created it first (smile). Mike is our friend and we want to borrow from the look and feel of his site without creating a direct copy of his site. This landing page must incorporate a clean, crisp design that is both powerful and impactful. The site is for Manley Feinberg and he is an adventure speaker who uses climbing to teach what he calls vertical lessons. The style of the site should be a full width slider at the top that takes up 90-92% of the "Above the fold" portion of the page. The other 8-10% of the "Above the fold" visible section of the page should display the top of three boxes (we call them portals) so that just the title of the box shows. On the sample site we mentioned earlier (http://MikeRayburn.com) this would be the "Thought Leader", "Keynote Artist" and "Entertainer" titles for Mike's three boxes. The main content area will appear below the fold. Below the fold we would like to see three portals (boxes or sections) that have the following titles "Adventure Speaker", "Climbing Expert" and "Communication Coach". Please use some graphical clue that the boxes can be clicked. For example, on www.MikeRayburn.com, the box titles have ">>" at the end of the title to tell the visitor they can click the title to learn more. Please don't use this same image, but instead find a way to communicate that the boxes can be clicked. Fonts: We don't have a specific font in mind though the current logo uses a font with clean lines and any fonts used on the layout should be Google friendly. Font Color: Where ever black text would normally be used, use a dark gray text color instead. Header area: We want the header areas to be dark blue so the design of the site needs a header area with the full width slider appearing below the header design. Optional header idea - We thought it might be cool to incorporate an image Manley took himself into the header and footer. For example, the following images may be somehow incorporated: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ouxj6l5qfsse0mh/116%20CLIMB.jpg https://www.dropbox.com/s/cqmdn1n9muxk5mz/107%20CLIMB.jpg
Elements to include in the landing page
Here are things that must be considered when designing this site: 1) The following items must appear ABOVE the fold: 1.1 Contact Information "For Bookings: 314-724-3443" 1.2 A video box placeholder with the title "Watch Manley in Action" 1.3 Free offer opt-in subscription box. 1.3.1 Free Offer Title "Get the VERTICAL LESSONS eBrief" 1.3.2 Free Offer Description "27 Strategies for Building Momentum and Reaching Your Summit" 1.3.3 Name 1.3.4 Email Address 1.3.5 Button that reads "Yes, Send my eBrief NOW!" 1.4 Menu with the following menu items 1.4.1 Home 1.4.1 Programs 1.4.1 Meeting Planners 1.4.1 Blog 1.4.1 Contact 1.5 Social media icons - Facebook, LinkedIn, Youtube and Twitter 1.6 For the slider, be sure to include back and forth navigation icons as well as the little circles or indicators that tell you which slide you are on. 2) The following items must appear BELOW the fold: 2.1 Main Content area - please use latin as a placeholder. Use a section header followed by approximately 150-200 words. 2.2 An area to feature client logos 2.3 A section for 1-2 testimonials - Please use these testimonials: 2.3.1 "Manley is always professional, positive and enthusiastic. I had the pleasure of hearing him speak and was in awe of his natural talent to keep an audience engaged, interested and entertained." Casey Kleekamp Manager, National Marketing, Build-A-Bear Workshop, Inc Image - http://verticallessons.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/BABW_Store_Front-300x216.jpg 2.3.2 "Manley is the valuable combination of human and technical skill. His sincerity and keen human insight lead him to great listening and presenting skills. He is a born leader with technical prowess and an ability to execute on complex projects. One look into Manley’s eyes and you know he gets it and will get it done – with humor and humility.” Dave Hinkle Corporate Vice President 2.4 The footer should repeat the menu from the header. 2.5 The footer should include the following copyright information "Copyright © 2014 Manley Feinberg, Vertical Lessons Inc."
We have a tight deadline for this project so we are planning to move quickly from the qualifying to final phase. Please submit your design as soon as possible. We are expecting to close the qualifying round in approximately 4 days. 1) Here is a link to climbing tools that may help you better integrate climbing into the design of the site. For example, you might incorporate a rope into the design. It is not necessary to use several of these elements, they are available in case you can incorporate 1-2 elements into the design. https://www.dropbox.com/s/6c4be19woxt0p4o/Climbing_Gear_Components_Words_From_My_Content.pdf 2) Here are links to images that may be used for this project: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/5rjxitxtxm4vpic/ER0t4C7bh_ 3) We are working to rewrite all of the copy on the website so feel free to use placeholder text anywhere it is necessary to complete the visual look of the site.
