Deep Space Aviators - create the adventure!

Entertainment & The Arts
We are a studio focused on crafting games that are full of adventure and exploration - games which capture players imagination and are fun and engaging to play. Our first game (in progress, still unannounced) will be space scifi and set in the future. The exact design of our first game is still being worked on but it will likely incorporate elements you would find in big space adventures like Star Wars - adventure, combat, interesting characters and locations, exploration, heroes/enemies, and so on.
What's your vision?
We need an image that can be used on the front page of our game studio website (http://www.deepspaceaviators.com/). FYI - the current background image is just a placeholder. Possible themes - adventure, space exploration, spaceships, pilots, flight, etc. For the elements within the image, it could have one or more characters, ship(s), a space background, or a mix of all of these. Also open to other good ideas people have. :) Colors - for the space background theme probably blue, black, white, something along those lines. Currently leaning towards cooler colors (blue for example) than warmer colors (red). Also open to suggestions! We're interested in a visual style that captures people's imagination with a sense of adventure.
Background info about us: we're geeks and huge fans of scifi (especially Star Wars) in movies, TV, and games. We've enjoyed things like Star Wars, Strek Trek, Firefly, and so on. If there's a space game out there, it's been played (Mass Effect, the old X-Wing series, EVE Online, Elite: Dangerous, many many more). We're also fans of real life space exploration (astronauts, space shuttles, and so on). The guy writing this (that's me!) is the founder of the studio and a real life pilot who enjoys flying small airplanes (Cessna, Diamond). We've looked at other indie game studio front pages and these ones caught our attention: Ludeon (https://ludeon.com/blog/studio/) - nice background image Phoenix Labs (http://www.phxlabs.ca/) - nice visual style that captures attention. Don't worry too much about specific elements in their image (colors, character aesthetic), we're not locked in to a specific style. Praxia (http://www.praxiaentertainment.com/) - starfield is nice, maybe a little dark though? For inspiration - this image captures the spirit of the studio - "http://www.123rf.com/photo_19761824_happy-kid-playing-with-toy-airplane-against-blue-summer-sky-background.html?term=pilot" - adventure, imagination, play. :) There are probably tons of interesting ways this could be imagined, so please ask questions if you need more info! Note on image size - the other sites we've looked at seem to have an image roughly 2000 x 1000 pixels in size so we would likely need something similar.
