We are developing a blog that will provide interviews with mothers (and their support systems) who have exclusively breastfed their children for at least four months--as a way of disseminating information and providing support to other families who are breastfeeding or considering breastfeeding.
What's your vision?
We want a designer to convert Rosie the Riveter (the "We Can Do It!" Rosie, not the Norman Rockwell Rosie) into a breastfeeding mom and baby. Rosie is an iconic image of empowerment for many women, and we want to embrace that for moms who choose to breastfeed. The resulting image should be faithful enough to the original that it is immediately evocative for women but should also demonstrate some creativity and an understanding of modern motherhood. Rosie should be holding her baby; you can add a baby sling of some sort--or not--as desired. You may or may not need to change the angle and perspective of Rosie's body to illustrate that she is breastfeeding and to show her (gender-neutral) baby. Please make sure that the breastfeeding position is a way women commonly hold babies to breastfeed, and please make sure the baby's body language is similar to how babies hold themselves while nursing. (See 'helpful images' for a few examples.) Rosie should still be wearing a blue button-up shirt, and she should retain her red and white polka-dotted kerchief (unless the kerchief print is used some other way) and her determined expression. The "We Can Do It!" should be included, though it may be included in some other manner than in the original image. Please keep all non-skin colors in bold tones (similar to existing colors). Technical details: --300 dpi, high-resolution Photoshop file --Enough layers in the file so that the background, writing, and Rosie/baby have their own layers. --The winning image will go on the header of the blog but may also be used for other media.
