Entertainment & The Arts
We are a new online publisher of fresh, contemporary childrenʼs musicals for kids age 7-14 to perform. The musical plays are created by a team of professional playwrights and arts educators in New York City, San Francisco and Los Angeles. We license these musicals to schools and community theaters around the world via an easy-to-use online publishing platform. We provide these organizations with a digital production kit that includes the script, all the music, backing tracks, plus tips for costumes and sets, etc. Our target audience is anyone who works with young actors (age 7-14). This could be a school drama teacher, a youth theatre director, or a summer arts instructor.
What's your vision?
We’re looking for Title Art for a new children’s musical we are about to release. The title art will give the show it’s visual identity and will be used to promote the show. It will also be available to schools who license the show for use on t-shirts, posters, etc. The musical is called “Tut, Tut!”. It is the story of King Tut (the 10-year old who became King of Egypt) mixed with Mark Twain’s the Prince and the Pauper. It takes place in Ancient Egypt, but is told in a contemporary style with pop-influenced music. The story is about a young Prince Tut who is bored of the royal life, so he wanders into the streets of the city. Suddenly he meets a peasant who looks just like him! They concoct a plan to trade places for 3 days. But when the King dies and Prince Tut must ascend the throne, chaos ensues. The title art should have the text “Tut, Tut!” large and clear, taking up at least 50% of the image, with illustration that surrounds/accents it. Underneath the title is should read in much smaller size “a beatbybeat musical" in lowercase Helvetica Neue Light (see attachment below for color). We're looking for something that is fun, hip, clean, bold, bright and contemporary. We definitely don't want anything too "kiddy", but it should be playful. Check out the title art attached below as a sample of title art from our other shows. Should somehow evoke Ancient Egypt in a fresh contemporary way. We want something that screams "this is a new 2015 musical" as opposed to something that looks like it could have been around for awhile. Possible imagery to include are: - pyramids - a funny camel - modern version of classic Tut profile - modern version of classic Tut profile with mirror reflecting a peasant
The dimensions should be roughly 3 (width) by 2 (height). The resolution must be suitable for printing at poster size (27” x 40” one sheet). Below are examples of Title Art we love from some of our other musicals. This should help you get a sense of style. You can see and read more about what we do at our website www.bbbpress.com

I found Brian Betterfly through a cover-design contest for my soon-to-be-published children's book. Brian's design was nothing short of spectacular!
Brian signed on to complete all of the illustrations for my book. Based on my storyboard, he generated and then refined sketches for each scene, making the changes I suggested, before finalizing the pages in full color.
The finished book is more amazing than anything I could have imagined! Brian worked tirelessly to not only format the book for printing, but also completed the graphic design and text layout as well.
Brian later went on to create a beautiful logo design for my publishing company.
Through all of the stages of this project, Brian Betterfly provided outstanding designs and artwork, was easy to communicate with, responsive, and completely professional.
I highly recommend Brian Betterfly!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
