I'm releasing an album within the next 6 months. The type of music I create is electronic, minimal, melodic, and maybe a little quirky. I would love if the album art could reflect that.
I want something minimal and light, with the album title and artist name in a font that draws inspiration from hand-drawn/hand-carved runic alphabets (similar to that featured on the album art of XOXO by the German rapper Casper). I am open to the placement and size of the text, but I have a feeling I would like them best at the very top and bottom, framing the art in the center. The album is called "Brash" and my name as an artist is "Taekele." Taekele should probably be at the top, Brash on the bottom.
As for the art, I would like something geometric, reminiscent of the "Geo Wires" trend. As the album is titled "Brash," it would be nice to incorporate that in some abstract way in the geometric design that will comprise the center point of the album cover. I drew inspiration for many of the aesthetics of the sounds and songs from rock ores. Particularly the textures of brass, pewter, lead, and precious stones... if that could be the inspiration for the geometric design, that would be ideal!
Granted, the design is very much up to you! However, it would be great if it could be inspired by one of those ores or minerals, centered, as the main focal point, in addition to being in and of itself more or less symmetrical. I also like the idea of incorporating some mineral texture. If you want to explore using portions of artistically cropped, hi-def, close-up photos of any of the aforementioned minerals, stones, ores, etc., I would love to see how that could be implemented (as vague as that may be).
In terms of color, I would like the background white (simple enough!), the text black, as well as the geometric design, but with some pops of metallic color derived from the metals mentioned above.
