International Journalists' Network
The International Journalists’ Network (IJNet) provides tips, tools and opportunities for journalists around the world in 7 languages. We publish articles, tipsheets, toolkits and more focused on media innovations and the state of journalism worldwide.
Our audience is global journalists, of all ages and skill levels. They tend to be tech-focused, interested in the ways that technologies impact journalism and storytelling.
We have a strong focus on fact-checking, media entrepreneurship, datajournalism, multimedia and more.
We would like designers to create icons/illustrations for journalism “toolkits” on our new website. A toolkit is a collection of articles, videos and other content that is practical, straightforward and applicable to journalists. Right now we are using stock photos, and they need to go!
We currently have two toolkits: “Journalism 101” — containing content related basic skills like interviewing and editing — and “Multimedia” — with content related to multimedia journalism, such as podcasting and shooting video. We are also working on “Collaborative journalism” and “Media entrepreneurship” toolkits. That is four icons in total (and more work may be available in the future). We recommend checking out (https://ijnet.org/en/resources) to see what, exactly, is in the toolkits — but keep in mind that the web design will change completely.
The icons on our homepage are 250 x 141 px, so please work within this space. We would like the icons to include a little color, and would like some creativity in the design. Although we recognize that it won’t include much detail, something more than a simple image (i.e. a microphone, computer, pencil) is preferred. Feel free to get a little creative, we want to show off a new freshness!
Please use the attached images for reference for colors and design language.
