CropOS - this is a Cloud-based computational biology infrastructure, a cognitive engine that integrates a wide variety of datas and data types, and enables the application of that data to solve complex problems within the agriculture space. CropOS empowers everyone to compete and innovate, leveraging powerful computational solutions and Biological Big Data to level the playing field between major agriculture companies and smaller players.
The below items are all software applications that are deployed to laptop, desktop, and mobile platforms, and serve the needs of biological scientists in the agriculture industry. Each is related to CropOS as shown in the diagram below.
Reveal - Reveal is a discovery engine for gene candidates, and supports the identification of individual genes which, which correctly manipulated, will improve plant performance. The system makes heavy use of network graph theory and Big Data to drive its computational products.
Breed - Breed is a computational system that provides decision support to industrial crop breeders through modern genomics technologies such as high-throughput sequencing, machine learning and decision modeling. Breed enables breeders to view the full diversity of their breeding programs and populations, and empowers them to make the best decision many months or years in advance of classical breeding approaches.
Edit - Edit is a software program that enables users to identify the best targets and methods to employ Genome Editing technology. This involves the insertion or deletion of small stretches of DNA in a highly targeted manner, and is a recent development in biotechnology.
Track - Track is a system that records the scientific outputs of individual scientists and technicians working within Benson Hill Biosystems. This is a workflow manager that allows deep insight into the process of Benson Hill, and also enables all work to be correctly logged and processed, without loss.
