Putting People First
Community & Non-Profit
The world’s first Southern (NGO) Network is going to be launched in May 2016 at the World Humanitarian Summit. The objective of the SNGO Network is to provide a forum where local and national NGOs from the global south, including some of the world's least developed countries, can influence the policies and practices of humanitarian and development systems that affect their operations and the well being of the communities in which they live and work. To ensure the brand is reflective of the needs of SNGO network members, we conducted a survey, the main findings of which - wherever possible - we have included in this spec. The majority of survey respondents work for organisations in the humanitarian and development sectors. Almost 40% of respondents work for organizations that focus on improving people’s livelihoods, followed by water, sanitation and hygiene, and health. - Grassroots work in the global south and local community voices - They also want members, donors and other network stakeholders to associate the brand with professional expertise in the field of humanitarian and development work
Other color requirements
The majority of survey respondents think the SNGO network logo should be an original design. The majority of survey respondents think that the brand could incorporate colours representative of the global south (Africa and the Middle East, Asia, and Latin America).
Branding Priorities To most respondents the most important thing about the network’s brand is that it’s geographically inclusive (Asia, Africa and Middle East, and Latin America) and very grassroots. Brand Messaging One of the most important things about the network’s brand (including logo and slogan) is that it reflects the network’s intention to build better partnerships with donors and International NGOs. Other important elements of the brand include the fact that the network is southern and dedicated to the world’s poorest people, as well as its mission to improve the humanitarian system.
