Bee the change for a better world
Community & Non-Profit
The European Multiple Sclerosis Platform (EMSP) is a Pan-European umbrella organisation with over 30 years of expertise. We work together with 43 members organisations from 37 countries and our partners to ensure that the more than one million people affected by multiple sclerosis (MS) in Europe, have a real voice in determining their own priorities. What we do We raise the voice of people with MS to ensure they have a role in determining their own priorities. Their needs are the focus of our advocacy and awareness-raising campaigns to influence European decision-makers and EU policymakers. We gather data and provide knowledge and expertise to relevant stakeholders and encourage high quality research and the dissemination of excellent, evidence-based information on MS. What makes us different? EMSP is the only MS-specific organisation that can represent the voice of 1 million+ people affected by MS to influence EU policies that impact their quality of life. For the past 30 years, EMSP has been collaborating with the European Commission and European Parliament to address the challenges faced by the European MS community and we work with the European Medicines Agency. Vision A world without Multiple Sclerosis Mission Improving the quality of life of people affected by MS through improved access to care, improved social and financial protection and societal understanding of MS. About the EMSP Young People’s Network The EMSP Young People’s Network (YPN) is dedicated to the empowerment and involvement of young people with MS in the work of the organisation. The members of the YPN (18-35) are passionate about changing society and making a positive impact. - Where they are involved with the national MS society, EMSP is encouraging and supportive as they work together to improve the experiences of young people with MS in their country. - Where young people are not involved with the national MS society, EMSP will support them to build connections, work with the national MS society and develop a mutually respectful collaboration. About the MS Hive The MS Hive is a creative space for social entrepreneurship, with young people with MS, their allies and friends and people from all areas of life to work on innovative projects. We see the MS Hive as an incubator, a place for the creation and development of projects based on social entrepreneurship and collaborative practices: - Initiatives created and developed to support broader campaigns and community out-reach - Increased involvement of young people in the work of the national MS societies. - A growth in the involvement of young people newly diagnosed with MS in the activities of national MS societies and in the EMSP YPN Concept of the (MS) Hive: there’s all the beauty of nature in the hive and it can be messy but ultimately, the bees work together, they are ordered (the geometric shapes are precise), communicate well, work together and as a collective are a mighty force.
