I am opening a divorce mediation practice as a Family Law Attorney. I help families through the divorce process without having to retain two separate attorneys. Through the use of research based interventions from positive psychology, parties emotions will be heeded as they are shepherded through the legal process of divorce. Additionally, parties will be provided a platform to communicate with their attorney through an online portal allowing for instant accessibility and organization.
Mediation is a voluntary process that is driven by the cooperation of parties who share a common goal to reach a mutually-beneficial settlement. As a mediator, I act as a neutral, as a lawyer, I provide legal information about family law- how to divide assets and debts, spousal support and matters involving the children.
Taking heed from eastern tradition the mindful divorce focuses on promoting a calm and balanced approach to divorce. While it is no way expected of clients to remain blissfully at ease throughout this challenging and emotional process, as a mediator I aspire to create a space between emotions and rationality, the space where agreements can be reached.
