What's your vision?
PLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT covers in 3D. Keep them one dimensional for ebook cover. PLEASE designers go for more symbolic elements of the story. Make your cover have more of an illustrative feel to any photos. I want it like the - NAMELESS PROJECT by Pintado here on 99Designs. I need a book cover for my serialized thriller (think Alex Cross Series) featuring an African-American Detective in his mid to late thirties. The Detective's name is John Start and he lives in New York City. I hope to get Denzel Washington or Will Smith attached to the movie rights for the film version. In this first serialized novel titled "START", the description is: "Everyone has a bad week, but not like this. John Start started out on the wrong side of the tracks but quickly realized that the only way out of poverty was to pursue a career. And that he did as a New York City Detective. Good for him. But all the training could never have prepared him for the hell that was about to break loose in his life. He thought his recent promotion would give him the easy street but his reality steered far from it. Sent on a routine murder investigation in Brooklyn, Start finds himself on a plane to Jamaica to thwart the greatest planned heist known to the West. But while in the island paradise everything isn't irie mon. Someone is out to get him and he must figure that out and try to foil the heist before he is shipped back to NY in a body bag." A crime thriller reminiscent of James Patterson's Alex Cross Series, START explores the wisdom of knowing who your friends and your enemies are. Sometimes your friends are your greatest enemies and your enemies your greatest friends." _______________________ This novel starts out with a bad guy from London (White Man) named Joshua Fall who wants retribution because John Start tried to put him away ten years earlier. Meanwhile this bad guy is friends with a criminal boss Younger Spaniard named Quentin Errar (his cover is the CEO of a private prison in Thames London) - also in London who hires and "Ocean's Eleven" type group called "THE POSSE" to rob the Bank of Jamaica in the island Nation. Also, truth is someone unexpectedly close to John Start is trying to set him up in Jamaica to take a fall or be assassinated. Start figures this out while in Jamaica. John Start's task is to try and thwart the robbery, save himself, and bring the enemies from his past and present to justice. Contact me about who the unexpected someone is. I don't want a public spoiler announced. ____________________ The ebook cover should have the title "START" , the phrase "A John Start Thriller" , the phrase "Book One", author's name "Conrad Powell" VERY Important I need full creativity here. My notes are only a guide. Attack this from any creative angle necessary. AS FAR AS picture elements, you can feature any one, or combo, or none of the following elements - The bad guy, the african american detective, a picture of the landscape that screams island paradise, the bank robbery theme itself is also a possibility and of course the assassination of John Start is a theme as well as the Murder investigation in New York City that triggered all of this. Note THE POSSE's headquarters for planning the heist of the Bank of Jamaica is a yacht in the Downtown Kingston Harbour called "The Rensaleer" docked across the Harbour from the Bank which is on the shoreline. Pictures exist for the actual Bank of Jamaica. You don't have to use any of this. I need the creativity to stand out. I need a great concept. The Bank of Jamaica is located downtown Kingston, Jamaica. The posse has a mix of male female black white and an East Indian.
Your image will probably end up on the Big Screen. BTW, I love the cover for the 99designs project "Nameless" the way it blends different elements together. I need something classy along these lines that says NYT Bestseller.

Lan designed a book cover for my Chinese book about some sinologists. Our cooperation was very smooth, she modified the design several times on my request and also provided her opinions when she thought it's right. I'm very satisfied with her design. Definitely will hire her again!
