Hello designers. We’d like for you to design a 6.125” x 9.25” hardcover for us.
Here’s the information on the book:
Title: When the Pressure¹s On
Subtitle: The Secret to Winning When You Can't Afford to Lose
Author: Louis S. Csoka
Audience: businesspeople (mostly men) who want to learn to excel at performing under pressure. This book provides lessons from both athletes and soldiers for how to get the mental strength and discipline to deal with pressure.
Over all “look and feel": STRIKING, clean & simple, strong, serious, businessy, but we’re open to a LITTLE bit of humor. The title should almost challenge the reader.
Possible imagery: We’re open to an image, but some are already used on competitive books. You CANNOT use: brains, a C-clamp, or Atlas (the man holding up the world). You could look for a small image that says weight or squeezing. Maybe an anvil or maybe a lit fuse. No clocks, as that implies time management. Please, NO men or women in business suits.
Published books with similar feel: I’m attaching a compilation called Pressure Comps, with four jackets. Three of them are direct competitors (one is a first version that we can’t use because the C-clamp was already used) and the other, START, just has a good look to it.
Some information about the book is attached.
NOTE: Please show me your designs as a face-front, flat image. You’re welcome to also include an angled “3D” version if you want, but we want to be able to compare all the designs in a FLAT format. We prefer jpgs that are about 1200 pixels tall. We don’t need to see a spine, and definitely not a back cover.
Thanks, Cathleen Ouderkirk
