What's your vision?
We're looking for a cover for our second installment of The Tinker and The Fold series - The Rise of The Boe. We've included the winning design from the first book to give you an idea of what we're looking for. The drawing included is a concept for a Boe war mask that we'd like worked into the cover. Please match font of first cover as closely as possible.
The second installment in The Tinker and The Fold series follows Jett on another adventure for the greater good. In this book, Jett builds another Quantum Swapper for him, his brother Jack, and his best friend Abcde (Syd) to travel to Pluto and rescue his father, Jett, Sr, from the Fold's murderer rehabilitation base. What he doesn't realize, is that the quantum shield surrounding the planet will trap him and alter his molecular makeup, destabilizing his atomic structure, and allowing him to change his molecules to any substance he chooses, including but not limited to, stone, metal, steam, or even water. He is rescued by the Aaptuuans and taken to Aaptuu 4, where an Eelshakian named Hazbog who is posing as a mechanic kidnaps Jack and takes him to the Alipour system. They end up on a forest covered planet populated by indigenous tribes of cat-like monkey creatures called the Boe and the Skowe. This is the story of Jett, Cyd, Nukii, and fan-favorite Bob's adventure to rescue Jack from Hazbog and the eerie Blood Mist. Here are some descriptions you might need for the cover: Character Descriptions Jett- Same blue-haired kid from first book. Now 15. Jett can change his body to a variety of different substances. Try having him made out of steel or water. If not, it's not a necessity. Abcde (Cyd)- Abcde is a 15-year-old girl who usually dresses in darker clothing, ripped jeans, and a black leather jacket. She has brown hair, and later in the book gets a cylindrical device that can make her appear larger, multiply how many of her there are, and control elements such as water, air, and fire. It might be cool to have her shooting a fireball out of a metal wand. Jack- Jett's twin brother. Not identical. Looks like an average teenage boy. Nukii- If you've read the first book, you know that Nukii looks sort of like a living red pompom with a few eyes and a long thin mouth. If you use her, make her only about as high as Jack's knee. Hazbog- Hazbog is the villain of this book. He looks like a giant blue electric eel. Almost like Randal from Monsters Inc., but much scarier and with electricity running along his body. He also has a horse-like head with sharp fangs. Alipourans- The Alipourans are almost cat-like monkeys. They wear tribal masks and are incredibly fast at traveling through the trees. They are armed with very basic weaponry: spears, stone daggers, etc. Blood Mist- The Blood Mist is a creepy reddish mist that crawls along the forest floor at night on Alipour. Bob- In the first book, Bob doesn't have a physical representation, as he is the consciousness that occupies Jett's room in Tower 100, but in this installment, he is transferred into Jett's watch. Just draw a watch on Jett with a face on some kind. Settings Alipour- a forest covered planet. Home to the Alipourans. Aaptuuan ship- futuristic spaceship inside. Here, Jett turns to water and Cyd uses her wand to swish him around in the air.
