What's your vision?
Book Cover for my novel "The Fog Seller". The paper book is 9" tall by 6" wide. The Fog Seller is a modern murder mystery where neither the hero nor the villain are the person whom the world believes them to be.
The Fog Seller character, who is the hero, sells little vials of San Francisco fog to visitors in the city. He wears a black tuxedo with long tails, a black satin magician's top hat and a scarf with bright blue and white stripes. The Fog Seller is the central character who saves a withdrawn young man who is accused of murder, and the Fog Seller bands together with other outcasts to find a way to expose the real murderer. At one point in the story he wears a blank-faced mask, photo attached. Much of the story is set on the Sausalito-San Francisco Ferry, which cuts through the fog on San Francisco Bay. An image of the ferry is attached. We want the user to know from the image that the action is set in San Francisco. A San Francisco skyline and/or Golden Gate Bridge background would be great if it works. I am open to considering any book cover design, but have two ideas: 1. An image of the ferry (with a different logo on the front) sailing at high speed through the fog, with the scene inside a glass bottle (sample images attached of a ship in a bottle), perhaps with red tinging the waves to suggest the murder. 2. A man in a blank mask wearing a tuxedo holding out a bottle with the same scene of the ferry in the fog. That may be too much for one 9 inch by 6 inch book cover.
