Book Title: Dubicki's Author: Lisa Andres Book Description: 24 year old Kelsey Dubicki works at the bar that her brother owns that their family built. They inherited it when their father died. Kelsey gave up her dreams of being an artist to help protect the family business and name by working as a bartender there. 30 year old Jason Rourke is one of the top real estate developers in the city. He has one of the best deals of his career at stake to build condominiums on a premier block in the city, but the only business that won’t sell out to the developers is Dubicki’s. Jason and Kelsey get more than they expected when they meet. They have conflicting goals but never expected to fall in love. Cover Design Ideas: The cover I envision has the Dubicki’s building in the background, snow on the ground, some random Christmas lights around the window or décor of the bar, and Jason and Kelsey standing out in front of it. I would like the scene to be at nighttime or dusk, ideally, but am open to any time of day. I envision Kelsey with dark straight hair pulled back into a ponytail and more of a tomboy/down to earth type. She’s got the pretty girl next door look (ala Katie Holmes, perhaps). Jason is a businessman which means he should be in a suit with a nice overcoat. He’s got dark hair and eyes with classic good looks. It’s winter in Minnesota, so they should both have coats on, but no hats. I’d like them arm in arm facing each other if possible. They can be embracing or maybe kissing if it's tasteful. I'd ideally like them standing out a distance from the bar so you can see the bar/building in the background. The book takes place in Northeast Minneapolis. Dubicki’s is a 1-2 story red brick building on a city block. It can stand alone or be near other businesses, as long as it looks like an older part of a city where store fronts are common. Northeast Minneapolis is historically a working class neighborhood, so the building should look a little more humble than quaint and cozy, if you will. So here's the least of what I need: Dark Hair on Girl, Short hair on Guy - it can be dark to dishwater blonde. He looks older than her. Brick building in the background and it's clearly winter and/or christmas time: I don't want over the top Christmas decorum, though. They should look in love (rather than if they are in trouble). I'm open to seeing other ideas than the one I have in mind if you can meet the minimum requirements I just mentioned. The cover design can also be New Adult/College meaning still should have couple and some sort of brick building in the background. if it's NA it should also include a small blurb: Jason and Kelsey get more than they expected when they meet. They have conflicting goals but never expected to fall in love. This book is being self published to amazon kindle direct and smashwords and will be ebook only. There will also be a sequel to the book in 2-3 months.
