Great service, gave me lots of options and really grasped the look & feel I wanted. Thanks
It has been a pleasure working with him. He's VERY creative and has the patience to go through a lot of small changes. I definitely recommend him!
How jacobquarterman started their book cover journey
Jacob Quarterman was born in Ohio, where he grew up dirty and poor, far from his Irish roots. After serving in the U.S. Army, he became an engineer, but his real achievement was getting the woman of his dreams to marry him. Almost twenty years later, and his dreams are still coming true.
He wants to write more, but after a few books, a weekly podcast, and a bunch of bourbon and cigars, most of his energy is going toward growing a sweet beard.
Young Adult, Fiction
The first book in an urban science fiction series.
Rebuilt after the Uprising, the city hides the truth from society with mundane routine. The Green Wall surrounds it, protecting it in complacent isolation, and war rages in the north, while a virus infiltrates the minds of everyone connected to the networks.
Martin Doe is focused on his own life and his own problems, just like the other kids, but he doesn't want to be like everyone else. He just wants to be better than he is. To jack into the networks without the gear that marks him as a target. When he finally gets what he wants, he loses everything he was. Chased by forces that want him dead, he finds out why he's different.
He was never like the other kids.
Making allies and enemies, he runs through the city with his best friends, racing north, carrying the key to holding the Uprising at bay.
15 and up males.
Book cover type
This one? I just like it...
Lots of contrast and bright colors. Warped perspective.
Texture in the typography matches texture in the splatter image.
Color scheme. I don't like the collage effect, though.
I like how it is a series of high contrast shapes on top of each other.
What colors do you want to see in your design?
Realistic characters - subtle representation of technology - high contrast - tilted horizon line
What to avoid

Createspace cover template PDF
The original cover. Aside from being bad, it's too blue, and nothing is present that suggests what it's about, except for the scan line effect running over the image and through the letters.
