Novel publication for a YA audience (ages 14-25).
What's your vision?
PROJECT: A cover for the first of three YA fantasy novels to be published through Amazon Kindle ebooks and CreateSpace printing. We would like to continue working with the winning designer for both of the other two installations in the trilogy. DESCRIPTION: By digging through chronicles of the past, the country's favorite hero may be able to find a cure for the star-inflicted curse that is slowly turning their population into dogs. He needs more time, and former thief Hippolyte Falcor is the only one who can buy it for him. Hip, on the other hand, just hopes to stay alive, using his street-smarts to shake off both his criminal past and the terrorists intent on killing them. But guarding a hero has its price. When his name makes the news and police show up on their doorstep, Hip realizes his cover is blown. The police and terrorists are fast on his heels, and if he can't escape his shadowy past, Hip will doom his country to the swiftest destruction of all. Title: Tomorrow We Die Author: E.R. Raabe Publisher logo: Included in the files below Print dimensions: 6x9 Currently we’re envisioning a backdrop of a textured, purplish night sky, speckled with gold-tinted stars (possibly with the constellation canis major prominent) and in the foreground: · The silhouette of fir trees, or · The silhouette of a young man / boy in a tree, watching the stars, or · A young man / boy walking in profile down a hill, but his shadow is shaped like a dog, or ·A young man standing, gazing down at his shadow, which is dog-shaped Other ideas are most welcome as long as they contribute to the gritty but fantastic tone, and appeal to YA readers. The title should be large, gold and easy for online readers to notice/read. This cover should be simple, striking and professional. We would prefer a graphic/illustrated look over photographs, but photo retouches are great IF you can avoid the stock image look. Feel free to contact us for further details.
The images in the concept board can guide color choices and layout. A note on setting/other elements: The setting is a run-down country with technology and architecture equivalent to our 1930s or 40s. Prominent devices include a black train with a gold stylized phoenix down the sides (my preference among the following), towns made of white stone or rotting wood, and a walled school of white stone near a lake (featuring a clocktower). More elements to include might be newspapers, bombshells, dogtags or blueprints since terrorists, policemen, old reports and engineers play important roles in the story.
Every design category has flexible pricing for all budgets. Book cover starts at €269.
Full copyright with production-ready files for digital and/or print.
