THE PRETENDER BOOK COVER To potential artists: The book(s) we have written are a reboot of the characters and catch me if you can like adventure from the hit cult television series of the same name that aired on NBC and then TNT between 1996-2001. The show was about a man who could be anyone he wanted to be and was on the run from the nefarious organization that had kidnapped him as a child and held him in confinement – doing their bidding as a human chameleon until he escaped at about 30 years of age. You can find out much more about the show and the characters by linking to: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Pretender_(TV_series) http://www.pretendercentre.com Or our website: http://www.thepretenderlives.com There you can see the cover we are having you remake for us. The key here is we are branding the books as a fun catch me if you can – cat and mouse escape romp with a retro feel. Where a very sexy woman is chasing a very sexy mischievous genius that is a human chameleon. The needs to sell the fun aspect of the cat and mouse - catch me if you can - part of the premise. That's the story we want you to tell visually for us on the book’s cover. Thoughts: In Foreground: silhouette of the sexiest legs in the western hemisphere - defiant stance, facing away – mini skirt and stilettos, gun hanging down right side of body. She is slightly ahead of the title: THE PRETENDER which we see in cool 60-style lettering. Guy silhouette leaning against the last R in Pretender. He’s 30ish, has a Cocky fun swagger, maybe a stethoscope around neck, hat signifying a different profession on his head at a slight angle, maybe a brief case with other ID’s et al falling out – and maybe a PEZ. Under The Pretender (or somewhere) – the words signifying Book One: Rebirth The Chase Begins near that Also on the cover needs to be our names as authors Steven Long Mitchell and Craig W Van Sickle NOTE: we have attached several covers and other images we like as inspiration. We like the 60’s retro feel – the title fonts - and we’d love to see the covers in this vibe. We think the covers live in this world somewhere. On the Back Cover Visually - a continuation of the Catch me if you Can – Cat and Mouse Chase theme – use your imagination here – also check out the attached image entitled Back Cover Concept. We will have wording to give to you – but prominent at the top and or bottom: Will Miss Parker catch the human Chameleon? Escape with The Pretender! Other random cover thoughts There may be wording that sells something like: A Mischievous Thriller – that will have you at the edge of your seat laughing your ass and feeling better than you have in years! OUR GUARANTEE: If this isn’t the best mischievous thriller about a human chameleon you've ever read – well, we’re still going to keep your money – yet you’ll know better next time. But if it is – you have to promise to share it with someone else who will enjoy it. Another visual thought for front cover: I was thinking it would be cool to have a guy and then his shadow depicts something else. You see a guy looking over his shoulder - he has a certain 'fun' swagger about him – but his shadow is different – it depicts a different profession – (or the shading on his face is made up of a thousand different versions of his face in different personas) Basically he's looking at the silhouette of a sexy woman - with a gun who is after him, but his body language tells us he’s ahead of her and not afraid – and that he’s a man with a thousand faces who is having fun being chased by the sexy chick he's toying with. (Idea: He may be feeding himself a candy out of a PEZ (hand to mouth) as he looks back at her.) OTHER THOUGHTS Maybe he has a suitcase with destinations/professions on them? or something like that? Or a back pack and he’s holding a PEZ like above.
