I am a German writer. This will be my first self-published book. I'd like the readers to feel good and happy. I like to mix crime suspense with humor and romance.
What inspires you and how do you envision the design for your business?
Please make an eBook cover AND a print book cover (paperback) Book Title: Seezeichen 13 Subtitle: Eine Bodensee Krimikomödie Author: Christiane Kördel --- Genre: Cozy crime – A regional crime comedy Setting: Konstanz, a small old town of about 80.000 inhabitants on Lake Constance in the southwest of Germany. NOTHING to do with Bavaria! Atmosphere: Summer in a vacation destination, light, easy going, turbulent, fast moving. Target audience: Inhabitants and tourists (male & female) +++ Women 18plus +++ Readers fond of regional crime fiction (male & female) +++ Readers of Janet Evanovich, Fox & O’Hare Series, Stephanie Plum Series. The heroine Ines is an entrepreneur, 30 years old, and lives with her dog in Konstanz on Lake Constance in southwest Germany. She is stubborn, a little chaotic, has red curly hear and a lot of power she can not always apply successfully. She loves chocolate, cuts her jeans to shorts and does NOT wear high heels. [.... cut out by christiane U after the end of the contest. No spoiler here! The book has been published by now ... :-) ] It doesn’t take long and she is up to her neck in a murder case and in a cyber crime. She lives through a turbulent summer week, gets in danger often, produces some chaos and still is able to enjoy good food and a swim in the lake. Some scenes are quite absurd, some are really weird and the heroine doubts whether she is going insane. It's the start of a series. ---- Impressions of the setting - just to give you a better idea of the place and atmosphere ..... [ cut out by christiane U after the end of the contest]
I would like you to be free in your creativity. I don't like yellow or pink as main color :-) Maybe an illustration would better suite the book than something photo based. One approach may be a retro style like in the lightbox PDF I have attached. This may be just ONE approach! One approach may be to let the inhabitants of Konstanz recognize in the stores, that it is about Konstanz by using silhouettes of landmarks or part of the skyline somehow in the background of the cover. This may be just ONE approach! Feel free to make whatever design you feel inspired to.
