Entertainment & The Arts
I am a contemporary romance author. My target audience is women, ages 18 and over who enjoy reading romance novels.
What's your vision?
This eBook is for adult audience only. The E-Book cover image has to be suitable for Amazon Kindle. Therefore, it should meet the requirements of Kindle Direct Publishing: JPEG, RGB. Requirements for the size of the cover art should have an ideal height/width ratio of 1.6, this means: • A minimum of 625 pixels on the shortest side and 1000 pixels on the longest side • For best quality, your image would be 2820 pixels on the shortest side and 4500 pixels on the longest side Cover art with white or very light backgrounds disappear against the white background. Adding a very narrow (3-4 pixel) border in medium gray will define the boundaries of the cover. Cover art should • be visually appealing in black and white • should look sexy but nothing indecent ( tasty but sexy) • serve as an eye-catcher even as a thumbnail • photos acceptable, but loyalties should be included • following information is to be included in the cover: the book’s title: One Night in Amsterdam (One Night Series Book#1) the author’s name: Nadia C. Kavanagh the description of the story on the back of the book: When Dylan Hamilton, sexy CEO of the Phliant investment comes out of the small room -a modern day brothel- in Red Light District of Amsterdam and sees two captivating but judging eyes glaring at him, he finds himself uncontrollably drawn to this glamorous and intimidating girl, Emma. Emma, soon to be resident surgeon, an innocent beauty with long auburn hair, sparkling green eyes, looks uneasy and anxious to be in the wicked part of the city. While she sits on a bench, feeling uncomfortable around rooms oozing sex, her eyes suddenly meets Dylan’s. Most beautiful, charming and charismatic man she has seen in her life walks slowly towards her and sits next to her unexpectedly. What starts as a casual conversation at the most unusual place turns into something more intimate and romantic in the next twelve hours. As Dylan and Emma wanders the streets of Amsterdam together, they find themselves falling for each other. While Dylan is desperate to get to know this witty, smart, beautiful girl, Emma wants to keep her distance, leaving it as one-day stealthy affair in Europe. After spending an amazing night together, Emma disappears without leaving a trace: No last name, contact number or an address. And the biggest challenge of Dylan’s life, impossible search for Emma all over the States starts. Can Dylan find Emma? And even if he does, can his relationship with his dream girl survive his disgraceful past? Design Concept Ideas: Idea1: Cover image may include image of a sexy couple. Faces may or may not be visible. Couple might be kissing, holding hands etc. They might be kissing by a windmill or at the beach during sunset (these two scenes are depicted in the book) If a couple image to be used, man should be New York Wall street type, sharp looking in suit: Blue eyes, dark hair. Woman should be in a casual sun dress tied in the neck with bare shoulders. Half of the story passes in Amsterdam, so I would like to see an image of Amsterdam canals at night time. The other half passes in New York. The cover image may be combination of two cities or just Amsterdam. Idea2: In the novel, there is many information about art and painting. Van Gogh’s Starry Night is highlighted where the couple have a romantic time in MOMA New York. A cover with Van Gogh's famous painting as a part of the design could be an option Idea3: Male character Dylan has a very unique tattoo in his arms. Image of a little girl and a boy holding hands at the edge of a precipice by a lone tree in black ink is depicted. ‘always together, two free souls forever’ written underneath it. This can be used with an image of a girl with auburn hair. I prefer girl’s face not be visible. Idea4: It is a romance novel in the end....Feel free to surprise me
I prefer designers not use images they don't own. If they do, I like to know the source and the cost.
