I'm publishing my second novel, The Nightmare Birds, which will be available in both printed and e-book format. Genre: Young Adult (YA) and Fantasy Fiction.
What's your vision?
TITLE: The Nightmare Birds AUTHOR: Amie Irene Winters BOOK DESCRIPTION (to be added to the back cover): Only those who possess wild eyes, an impulsive heart, and a wandering spirit hunt for the Theater of Secrets—and once they witness the darkest of magic, they don’t return. It promises to change your life forever—but is the mysterious Theater of Secrets legend or something more? Tasked to answer that very question, Daisy Darling sets out to uncover the truth and is thrown headlong into a life where inexplicably strange and dark things happen nightly. A life of deception and uncertainty. A life in the spotlight as the theater’s ringleader. As Daisy assumes her new role, she not only discovers a surprising connection between herself and the previous ringleader, but also the haunting truth behind the theater’s limitless power. Determined to expose the theater and foil its wicked plan, Daisy must first embrace her heritage before she can defeat the dark forces at play. DETAILS: -I'm looking for an eye-catching, mysterious, and magical book cover, which draws readers in right away. -This is book II in a series, so this cover needs to be somewhat consistent with the first book (Strange Luck - see attached). -I'd love to something with a dark circus/masquerade theme. -I'd like the lettering on the cover to be the same or very similar to the first book. It should read Book II at the bottom above my name with the same small designs on either side. Again, I'd like the font and sizing to be consistent with the first book (see attached cover of Strange Luck). -My protagonist is 21-years-old with long red hair and blue eyes. -My novel is about a dark circus. There's a lot of magic, witchery, and strange things that take place there. This book was influenced by the horror author, H.P. Lovecraft. -There are a lot of Victorian costumes and things in the story, although its set in modern times. The cover doesn't have to be "Victorian looking," but if you come up with something that fits the mold, go for it. -The bird in the story is an owl if you want to incorporate that somehow. There's also a reference to a magical key as described here: 'It was the most complicated looking key I’d ever laid eyes on with dozens of hooks, slots, and roughed edges. On its magnificent green glass handle was a black etching of an owl with sinister red eyes sitting on a branch.' -I've attached some book covers and photos for inspiration. DESIGN DETAILS: -I will be using CreateSpace. The printed size of my book will be 5.06 x 7.81, so the design size needs to be 10.6 x 7.81. Please see attached template. -Image Resolution: At least 300 DPI -File format = JPG and PDF (The book will be published through Amazon and there are 2 options to upload your book cover. A JPG will scale the cover and a PDF will not, so I'd like both options to ensure nothing is cut off, etc.). Imagery requirements: (Please use comp images for contest) -Imagery from the following sites is acceptable and will be purchased by the contest holder and provided to winner for final version. Shutter Stock Dreamstime Istock Photos Or any other sites that offer Images for purchase as royalty free images. Images from wallpaper sites and other presumed public domain sites will not be accepted. If you are using an image from your personal stock then you must provide evidence that it is royalty free. -Facebook header: RGB 851 pixels wide and 315 pixels tall This can be with book cover on right side or simply a section of the cover you design. Make sure to that no text is in area of profile pic on left side.

Designs were amazing. Perfectly matched body types of the real people and turned them into super heros. Skin tones, logos everything was perfect. And I truly mean perfect. I'm more than satisfied and will continue to work with WATCH THIS in the future.
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
