We intend to sell this young adult fantasy-comedy novel entitled The Hidden Chalice of the Cloud People on Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing for both a young adult and general audience.
What's your vision?
We would like half of the cover of our book The Hidden Chalice of the Cloud People to be composed of the following: Our protagonist Tommy Dana, a tall, lanky, dark-haired half-native american, half-Irish thirteen year old dressed in a flannel shirt and jeans, about to embark upon a dark and dusty road that winds through a shadowy desert-like charred wasteland populated with a handful or so shambling zombie-like teenagers (without excessive decomposition) whose eyes are composed of murky pools of muddy water. We would like the other half of the same cover to be comprised of this: In the sky above the previously established scene and setting we want two enlarged elements of our story to hang in a rather abstract state. The first is a garish golden chalice that has engraved along its shining exterior surface two images of the bushy-haired, three-eyed, four-armed Indian demons known as Vetalas (a Google search will yield a an adequate result). The second is the distorted face of our book's major antagonist the devious Cloud Person Facinorous enveloped in the clouds surrounding the golden chalice. His demented countenance is humanoid, constituted of dark tempest-like cloud cover, and filled with a deranged grin and ominous glowing maroon-colored eyes.
This book cover design needs to meet Kindle Direct Publishing's requirements which are, in their words, as follows: Kindle Direct Publishing accepts two types of files for cover images: JPEG, or .jpeg TIFF, or .tif(f) KDP applies additional compression to images when displaying them on its website. For best results, please upload your images with minimal compression. Dimensions Requirements for the size of your cover art have an ideal height/width ratio of 1.6, this means: • A minimum of 625 pixels on the shortest side and 1000 pixels on the longest side • For best quality, your image would be 2820 pixels on the shortest side and 4500 pixels on the longest side Important: We cannot accept any image larger than 10,000 pixels on the longest side.
