What's your vision?
I am planning to publish a series of books comprised of posts from my long-running website, The West Virginia Surf Report. I'll need covers for both the ebooks, and the 6 x 9 CreateSpace paperbacks. The site is humor-based, mostly having to do with my "ridiculous adventures in suburbia." It has nothing to do with West Virginia, and the state should NOT be incorporated in the cover design. Also, even though it's a humor site, I'd like to stay away from "wacky" images, cartoons, etc. I like colorful, simple designs. I've attached a couple of examples (example1 and example2) to give you an idea of what I'm thinking. However, I'm open to your suggestions. You're the experts, not me! I've also attached a version created by a friend (ridiculouscover). It's not bad, but not quite as "pro" as what I'm looking for. Your cover should include the same verbiage as the (ridiculouscover) example: Ridiculous Adventures in Suburbia, Best Of The West Virginia Surf Report!, Volume One, Jeff Kay. Of course, it should work well as both a book cover and an Amazon thumbnail.
This contest is for Volume One of the series. Depending on demand, there could be as many as ten volumes. All subsequent covers will be slightly altered versions of this first one. If at all possible, I'd like to work with the original artist 1-to-1 for future versions of the cover, at $100 each. This is not guaranteed, of course. It will all depend on reader response. While working on the (ridiculouscover) design, we were going to change font colors and the suburbs-themed clip art for subsequent covers. That's still a viable option, but I'm completely open to your ideas. I will provide back cover verbiage, and spine size, at a later date. I've included an author photo and the Smoking Fish Media logo for the back cover. I'll also need a space for the barcode on the back. The visual parts of the design should not violate any copywrite. Also, I'll need all unlocked files at the end of the contest. Any questions, please feel free to message me. I appreciate all your efforts. Thank you! **PLEASE NOTE** I know I put the word 'colorful' in the title, and offered up some colorful examples. But feel free to get creative with it, and go your own way. I just want something with some life to it, which will look good as a thumbnail, and can be slightly altered for future editions. Thanks!

Aaniyah was creative and brilliant. And, he really thought outside the box to create a beautiful cover. He was easy to work with and a professional from start to finish.
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
