Book Title: 50,000 Subtitle: tributes to the journey of writing a novel in one month other text: ed. Tam Frager other text: a portion of all sales are donated to the Office of Letters and Light Size: 6x9", .56" spine Paperback and digital This is book of tribute essays detailing what National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) has meant to the essay writers. During NaNoWriMo, each writer strives to write the first draft of a 50,000+ word novel in 30 days. NaNoWriMo happens every November. I need a cover that represents community, writing, taking on a challenge, and/or thankfulness. The more of these that are well incorporated, the better -- but I'd rather have just one of them than a jumbled mess. The cover should be eye-catching and stand out from the sea of other covers. It should appeal to both men and women, as the essays are written by both and both participate in NaNoWriMo in relatively equal numbers. I've included copy for the back cover. The back cover also needs to leave space for the bar code/ISBN.
Back Copy: What would you do if someone challenged you to write a novel in just one month? Would you laugh? Or would you take up the challenge and join the hundreds of thousands of others working on writing their novels? And if you did take up the challenge, how would it change you? These 73 essays are written by “Wrimos” – people who have taken up the challenge. They’re written by everyone. There are people not graduated from high school, and people who have retired. There are men and women, and folks from various countries. And the only thing that many of them have in common is that they sat down to write a novel in a month. These essays show how rising to that challenge affected them, and how they feel about the man who made it possible. This book is not associated with nor endorsed by National Novel Writing Month, Chris Baty, or the Office of Letters and Light. It is, however, a tribute to them. A portion of all proceeds will be donated to the Office of Letters and Light to help keep the challenge going.
