Entertainment & The Arts
This is an Urban Fantasy novel designed for New Adult audiences ages 18-25.
What's your vision?
I need a cover for my upcoming Urban Fantasy novel Control, the first in a series. The cover should be made for a real book with frontside and backside. The frontside will also be used for an eBook. Amazon's Createspace, which is where the book will be published, has their cover submission guidelines which can be found here: https://www.createspace.com/Products/Book/CoverPDF.jsp Text: On the front there should be the title (Control), the subtitle (The Anomalies Series), and the author's name (Brittany K. Blair). Cover: For the frontside I'd like to see a crumbling building in the background. It's important that the building not be completely fallen, on fire, or exploding. These give the sort of feel I'd like for the building itself: http://rogermontgomery.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/Skyscraper.jpg http://lubbockonline.com/sites/default/files/imagecache/superphoto/10818468.jpg http://img1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20130918222011/battlefield/images/1/10/Skyscraper_Collapse.jpg In the foreground, I'd like to see a boy with two girls on either side of him. The boy should have short to medium length, medium to dark hair, average build and bright blue eyes, preferably a turquoise color if you can. The first girl is a white girl, should have dark, straight hair to or past her shoulders, slim build (almost skinny, she lives on the streets so if she's on the side of too-skinny that's fine by me), and dressed in neutral toned, street-smart clothes (jeans, jacket, ect, gloves would be nice if you could but not necessary. Mostly just something that gives the impression she could easily move and run in). The second girl, should have blonde hair and a more average build, as well as a more office-style wardrobe, something to imply she doesn't often have a need for running away. The backside I have less a set idea. The setting of the world is futuristic, though the building on the front should be current style, bricks and mortar as it's in an older, historic side of town. So I could see a more distant background of a more futuristic/modern city. I would also be fine with just the backside of the crumbling building as the back cover. If you'd like room to get creative, a bit of backstory for the scene the cover is showing: the main male character is living with (squatting) in the building on the cover with a group of supernaturals called Anomalies. A branch of the government created to contain these supernaturals is destroying the building, and lying in wait outside the building to capture and arrest any that manage to escape. The back cover text will amount to 150 words. I'm using Amazon's Createspace service to get that blurb, so I do not have it for you currently. Thus I will need either a psd of the cover, or a designer willing to add the text once I receive that from Createspace. Style: I don't have a particular style I'm set on. All the links below I like the styles of and could easily see with the cover. https://tobiasmastgrave.files.wordpress.com/2012/08/dive_into_fantasy_city_wallpaper_70tj3.jpg http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-oRY5lHO_qcg/UGvX7yFwGAI/AAAAAAAAA40/xyWvYfFg6Fs/s1600/kingmaker-coverart.jpg http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-iZlfEbWW4pI/UIeRXyKvU5I/AAAAAAAAA84/ekwsSbe90Mo/s1600/ThreeDaysToDeadMeding.jpg
