This is the second job I've done with Alexandre, "Portugal." This time I didn't do the contest--I knew I wanted Alexandre to do my second cover. He did not disappoint--it is exactly what I asked for and once again he used his expertise and creative eye to make things better than my original request. I also really love how it matches the first cover in a color/font scheme so it looks really professional. This was my first experience asking someone directly to do work and Alexandre was fast, professional, and a delight to work with. I can't recommend his services enough. He is really good at designing book covers!

Here is the book synopsis (which can also be viewed on Amazon.com);
In May 2000, Joel Smith is a cocky, adventurous young man who sees the world as his playground. But when the college senior, days from graduation, enters an abandoned Montana mine, he discovers the price of reckless curiosity. He emerges in May 1941 with a cell phone he can't use, money he can't spend, and little but his wits to guide his way. Stuck in the age of Whirlaway, swing dancing, and a peacetime draft, Joel begins a new life as the nation drifts toward war. With the help of his 21-year-old trailblazing grandmother and her friends, he finds his place in a world he knew only from movies and books. But when an opportunity comes to return to the present, Joel must decide whether to leave his new love in the past or choose a course that will alter their lives forever. THE MINE follows a humbled man through a critical time in history as he adjusts to new surroundings and wrestles with the knowledge of things to come.
What inspires you and how do you envision the design for your business?
We require the front cover art for this book (we do not need any spine or back cover artwork).
We request designs be prepared in two different orientations. The first is a perfect square (for an audiobook), the second is a traditional portrait format.
The perfect square format should be a minimum of 300dpi, 2400x2400 pixels. The portrait should be of similar resolution.
In terms of creative direction: the story is an adventure drama, and focuses primarily on a college aged male that gets sent back in time inside of an abandoned mine. The cover art should be in keeping with those elements. Beyond that, we are open to any and all creative ideas.
A pdf of the first 20 chapters is attached for any designers who would like to get a more thorough sense of the book's content.
