Business & Consulting
We help health clinics in private practice to look and function great online, even if they don't have the time or know-how. Owners of private health clinics are usually the ones working in the clinic (e.g. chiropractors), and so they usually have little or no time to focus on any business building activities, such as online endeavors. This book will help them get a head start and flourish. It is purely focused on the online arena. It is not a sales or marketing book. TYPICAL READER OF THIS BOOK WILL BE: - owner of a health clinic (e.g. physical therapy / physiotherapy / chiropractic / osteopath etc) - technology shy - time and resources poor - works solo or with a small team - wants to get online and really make an impact - has no idea where to begin - has no idea how to grow online - may be skeptical or even afraid - needs someone to just "take care of the website" - needs someone to explain what a "blog" (or whatever) is and why they should have one - needs someone to show them how to do stuff IMPORTANT: This book will help these clinic owners get empowered, noticed and successful online, by helping them to: 1) understand their options (where to find a designer, what domain name to choose) 2) evaluate where to focus their attention (e.g. spend time building a Facebook page) 3) make informed decisions (e.g. whether to start a blog) 4) feel confident to roll up their sleeves and try something new (e.g. make a YouTube video for their clinic) 5) evaluate whether something is working for them or not (e.g. monthly e-newsletters) 6) find new clients using the Internet and their website. 7) They are already confused. They don't want to be more confused by a fancy design which means nothing to them.
What's your vision?
I need a book cover designed. Title: "Clinics in the Cloud" Tag line: "Getting noticed and getting smart for clinic owners in private health practice" Author: "Yalcin Yilmaz" SPECS: - A5 format (210mm x 148mm) - 190 pages; spine width: 10mm ART DIRECTION: - Modern, fresh, confident - Appeal to non-technical people (clinic owners must be able to relate and understand the offering) - Representative of online services / Web 2.0 feel - Avoid 1990s technology cliches (such as 1s and 0s depicting "digital", and pictures of the Earth) - Avoid using medical devices/imagery/doctors. This is because some readers will be skincare or massage clinic owners (not related to medicine). - Avoid cluttered designs... must be easy to look at. - Some preference for illustrative design rather than photographic image based layout (however not limited to this) USE OF STOCK IMAGES: - If you opt for a photographic image based layout, my preference is for use of license-free images (to keep my costs down), unless you showcase a "must have" paid-license image (in which case you need to let me know the stock library/source). ATTACHED FILES (see ZIP file): Note, I will replace these later in the final PSD myself. - Synopsis (help you understand the book purpose) - Author profile photo (for back cover) - Publisher logo (for spine / back cover) - ISBN / Bar code - Sample blurb / back cover copy. YOUR SUBMISSIONS: - I'd like to see the flat design (back, spine, front). - 3D render will help, but not mandatory if you don't have the software or Photoshop plugin. DELIVERABLES for the winning design: 1) CS4 compatible PSD file with *correctly named and grouped layers* 2) Any specific fonts used (either use standard Windows 8 fonts, or use fonts that are freely available) 3) Specifics of any images / photos used (source, name of library, image ID etc. required for any licensing purposes). This is not applicable if you opted for an illustrative layout, which is your own work.
This job will probably lead onto flow-on design jobs, such as a book website and book promotion banners / posters. I'm happy to give credits to the winning designer in the book's imprint page :-)
