Entertainment & The Arts
I'm an author of humor, suspense/thriller, and middle-grade books. The newsletter will include funny personal stories, an occasional ghost story, updates on what I'm writing, and reviews on what I'm reading. I may throw in excerpts from stories I'm working on as well. My website kind of focuses around three colors - black, red, and white - and I'd like to stay with that scheme. I've included a list of links to my website and social media where I keep my fans updated that may help with design ideas. - Website: www.writingwithbeers.com - Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/storiesbyjames/ - Twitter: https://twitter.com/writtenbyjames - Goodreads: http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/14855541.James_D_Beers - Amazon: amazon.com/author/jamesdbeers
What's your vision?
I need a masthead design for my Mail Chimp newsletter. I thought we could focus the masthead design on either the name of my newsletter (Beers News & Story Brews), the name of my website (Writing with Beers), or on the tagline for my opt-in pop-up (Got chuckle?), but I'm open to ideas. If you feel like my logo needs a little makeover, give it a shot. I need a masthead that says, "Ooh, I want to look through this newsletter." It needs to be something that catches peoples' attention. I've attached a logo, screenshot of where the masthead would go, and a screenshot of the opt-in pop-up that may be useful for generating some design ideas. I've attached several masthead designs that catch my attention. I want a masthead that does what the examples do - they catch my attention, they look appealing, and they make me want to check out the newsletter content. I don't really need my logo to be on the masthead (it can be but it doesn't have to be) but the masthead should follow the same theme (color, etc) as my website. Feel free to incorporate the logo if you feel it would work but matching fonts etc.
I'm looking at an image of about 1000 pixels by 300 pixels with a 300 dpi resolution. Look at the attached masthead examples and ask yourself, "how can I design a masthead for James that would be similarly appealing?"
